Good copy of this scarce guide. First issued in 1856 and reissued almost every other year until at least 1905 with the twentieth edition. Mr English must have printed hundreds of copies of all editions but we have records of fewer than twenty copies passing through our hands in thirty years. This Twelfth Edition may be dated no earlier than 1881 and no later than 1886, based on internal evidence. (Goulden, p. 61, no. 36).
