40 x 27 cm. Chromolithograph by Vincent, Brook Day and Son, produced from a watercolour by caricaturist Leslie Ward under the pseudonym SPY. Chromolithograph mounted on board. Signed by Monogram, Spy. Derek Keppel hand written on lower margin. Light toning to margins, but otherwise a very good print. Former soldier and courtier, Lieutenant-Colonel Derek Keppel was a son of the 7th Earl of Albemarle, appointed Equerry to The Duke of York (Prince of Wales, 1901), in 1893; he was later Master of the Household to King George V, 1913-36. Sir Leslie Matthew Ward (1851-1922) was a portrait artist and caricaturist, using the pseudonym, 'Spy.' He produced work for the British society magazine, Vanity Fair (published 1868-1914) for over forty years.
