Peter Clark (b.1944), urban historian, was first director of the Centre for Urban History, University of Leicester, 1985-99 and Professor of European Urban History, University of Helsinki, 2000-2011. Professor Paul Slack was a Lecturer in History at the University of York, 1969-73 and later held various offices at the University of Oxford.
