FIRST EDITION. 8vo. 7.5 x 5.75 inches. [8] + 416 pp. Bound in original blue cloth with bevelled edges, titles in gilt and black and decorated pictorial front board and spine. Some wear to extremities, including head and tail of spine, which is faded. Flyleaves browned and occasional scattered foxing, but otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by 8 engraved plates by William Boucher. Decorated by initials. First edition of a collection of adventure stories by eighteen contributors, including The Sole Survivors by G. A. Henty (1832-1902), a volume in a series of such collected stories. Illustrated by William Henry Boucher (1837-1906), Punch cartoonist and illustrator (The Victorian Web website).
