8vo. 9.25 x 6.5 inches. 318 pp. Title page with black and red borders. Bound in original green cloth, gilt. A little wear to extremities and traces of foxing on flyleaves and fore edge; otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by 23 black and white pages of plates, including frontispiece. A fictionalised version of the life of the Hampshire smuggler, Captain Thomas Johnstone (1772-1839), by James Cleugh (1891-1969), Novelist and translator (see University of Reading Special Collections website).
