Notes
The nine items are identical except for the signatures at the bottom and in one case the hand written entries of the three candidates. They are Alexander Randall of Ashford Road, Banker, Charles Hoar, King Street, Solicitor and Thomas Day, Ashford Road, Surgeon. Charles Hoar served as Town Clerk, 1823-36, Alexander Randall as Mayor in 1841, the year of this Aldermanic election, and Thomas Day was Mayor in 1843. A fine piece of printing by Ambrose Austen (1800-69). Each voting form is priced at £15.
