Oblong 4to. 8.25 x 11.75 inches. 60 pp. In pictorial card wrapper. Minor wear to extremities, but otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by black and white and colour photographs, drawings and plan. Plan inside front wrapper. An account of Peterlee New Town in Co. Durham. The abstract artist, Victor Pasmore (1908-98) worked as Consulting Director of Urban Design in Peterlee, 1955-77 and was responsible for the town's reinforced concrete centrepiece, the Apollo Pavilion, now Grade-II* listed by English Heritage. The book contains a previously unpublished essay on Urban Design by Pasmore, 1970 and a chapter by Toby Paterson (b.1974) depicting the influence of Peterlee on his art.
