Extremities worn, fly leaves browned and pages affected by damp with some water stains. 1945 signature on first free endpaper and Tennyson poem in blue ink on second free endpaper. This title is considered to be one of the more significant works of the Theosophical writer, Alice Anne Bailey (1880-1949). Born in Manchester, she became involved with the Theosophical Society in 1917, but later broke with them and founded, with her future husband, Foster, founded the Lucis Trust in 1922. This esoteric text describes the fifteen rules of magic, by means of which disciples may progress further into the mysteries of spirituality. The first edition was published in 1934.
