A finely detailed map of the whole course of the Nile, covering Egypt, the Sudan and Abyssinia and also extensive territory to the west and south, including Lake Victoria, the Congo and part of the Libyan desert. This map was published in December 1883, only about three months before General Gordon left England for the Sudan. COPAC records only one copy of this 1883 issue in the Bodleian Library.
