A lengthy introductory section surveys the various Bible translations into English, with accounts of the lives of the translators. The main text selects passages from the scriptures and prints four alternative translations side by side for the Old Testament and six for the New Testament. A scarce work; COPAC records only one copy of the Dundee edition, in the British Library and one copy, in King's College Library of the 1847 London edition, with a variant title,
