FIRST EDITION. 4to. 8.25 x 11.5 inches. 120 pp. Bound in original black cloth with pink titles. Slight wear to extremities and browning of fly leaves, but otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by tipped in portrait frontispiece, four colour plates, including 3 tipped in and by 67 monotones in text, including whole page and tipped in. Decorated by publisher's device on verso of title. Well illustrated account of the design work of William Morris (1834-96) by Gerald Henry Crow, poet. Published to mark the centenary of Morris's birth and edited by Charles Geoffrey Holme (1887-1954), son of Charles Holme, founder of The Studio, who edited several of the special numbers of the periodical, published in book form. It was reprinted in 1975.
