Some sunning of boards and spotting of edges; otherwise a very good copy. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. The eighth novel featuring the author's detective, Slim Callaghan, and set in Alfriston, East Sussex. Peter Cheney (1896-1951) was a British crime fiction writer, who published his first title in 1936.
