Decorated by vignette of tree on title page, within borders. First edition of poems by Joyce Kilmer (1886-1918), US poet and editor who fell in action in the Second Battle of the Marne and was posthumously awarded the French Croix de Guerre. The collection is most famous for the short poem, Trees, much anthologised and parodied. This is the first issue of the first edition, without 'Printed in USA' on the verso of title.
