Notes

A well illustrated study of Chinese ceramics of the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). Robert Lockhart Hobson (1872-1941), born in Ireland, joined the British Museum in 1897 and, after war service, was appointed Keeper of the Department of Ceramics and Ethnography in 1921 (of Oriental Antiquities, 1934-38). In 1925 he published The Later Ceramic Wares of China.
