A history of the office of Six Preacher in Canterbury Cathedral, instituted by Archbishop Thomas Cranmer to preach against Roman Catholicism in 1541, but now an honorific appointment. It includes biographies of the two hundred Six Preachers, down to the time of writing. Derek Ingram Hill (1912-2003) was an Anglican priest and historian, author of several guidebooks of the Cathedral. He was appointed to the College of the Six Preachers and installed in 1964.
