Notes

The bookselling and printing firm of Henry Mozley was established in Derby around 1815 and flourished throughout the century as a family run business. Mozley published and sold many local books and gazetteers as well as a range of children's literature. This educational chapbook was an example of a number of alphabets issued by the firm; other titles included The A, B, C. Book, The Apple-pie Alphabet and The Poetical Alphabet. All of these were of eleven pages only and it has not been possible to trace a copy of The Royal Alphabet in COPAC.
