FIRST EDITION. 8vo. 5.25 x 7.5 inches. [xv] + 369 pp. + 2 pp publisher's catalogue bound at rear Bound in original lilac cloth, gilt, with pictorial gilt blocks on front board and spine. Extremities slightly worn. Spine faded. A good copy. Illustrated by 6 colour plates including frontispiece, 20 full page plates and 26 drawings in text and by title page vignette. The twelfth of a series of twelve fairy books with titles named after different colours, written by Andrew Lang (1844-1912), Scottish poet and novelist. The sources of these thirty five stories are from numerous countries. A handsomely bound and illustrated volume.
