A two volume biography of the Emperor Napoleon by the historian, John Holland Rose (1855-1942) who taught at Cambridge, 1911-33, holding a chair from 1919, and was a prolific writer on modern European history. This title was first published in 1901 and appeared in numerous editions until 1935. A Dulwich College prize in a handsome presentation binding by Bickers.
