Extremities worn with a few stains on boards and sunned spine, but otherwise a very good copy. 1922 newspaper cutting on sale of Lympne Castle tipped into p 333. Illustrated with 8 plates, including frontispiece, and with 2 maps and numerous drawings by the author, many full page. A thorough historical and topographical description of the Kent coast, including chapters covering Deal and the Goodwin Sands, the Channel Tunnel, Shakespeare Cliff Colliery and Romney Marsh. Charles George Harper (1863-1943) was a prolific author and illustrator of topographical books, including other county coast titles and a series on historic roads.
