Facsimile reprint of the work by William Holloway (1785-1870) first published in 1849 by John Russell Smith, 4, Old Compton Street, Soho Square, London. This very scarce work, the first history of Romney Marsh, had appeared in a limited edition of approximately 200 copies, of which 111 were noted in the list of subscribers, the remainder were to be sold, but many were destroyed in a fire which accounts for its extreme rarity of the original today. A welcome reprint of this elusive book. The title was a follow up to the author's 1847 book on Rye.
