Folio. 10 x 13 inches. 264 pp. title page in red and black. Bound in original brown morocco, gilt, with tooled gilt borders, crowned monograms and lettering. Inner dentelles, purple silk endpapers. All edges gilt. A fine copy. Handwritten compliments inscription, with signature, on half title Illustrated by photogravure portrait frontispiece, by 20 tipped in colour plates with captioned tissue guards and by text figures. Decorated by coloured initials and tailpiece and title page vignettes. Historical record of the 1911 Coronation. The contents include the legal preliminaries (Orders in Council, Proclamation, Court of Claims and Earl Marshall's orders, the procession, the ceremonies observed and the royal progress. At the end is a 101 page list of invited guests to the Abbey. Compiled by Henry Farnham Burke (1859-1930), Anglo-Irish officer of arms who had progressed through the College of Arms to become Norroy King of Arms in 1911 and Garter Principal King of Arms from 1919. A magnificent piece of book production, sumptuously bound.
