US edition of the Frank Cass reprint of a title first published in 1938. A detailed survey of the Crown lands in the seventeenth century, sold during the Commonwealth period and restored at the accession of Charles II. It is largely based on the archives of the House of Lords record Office and on material held at the London School of Economics. Sidney Joseph Madge (1874-1961) was an antiquary and topographer.
