8vo. 7.25 x 5.25 inches. 747 + [1] pp. Pagination includes numerous advertisements paginated in text. Bound in original green cloth, gilt, with blind stamped borders enclosing gilt title block on front board. Spine date faded and some wear to extremities but otherwise a very good copy. 1933 signature on first free endpaper and faded inscription on rear pastedown. Illustrated by 64 photogravure plates and by text figures. The British Journal Photographic Almanac was first published as part of the British Journal of Photography in 1859 and as a separate publication, 1866-1961, continuing to 1963 as the Annual. It was a major source of information on cameras and other optical items and all types of photographic equipment. It is notable for the quantity and quality of its illustrated advertisements for the latest products, with some notable art deco examples.
