Kenneth Williamson (1914-77), ornithologist, specialising in bird migration, published several titles on birds and island and served on the Faeroes, 1941-45. At the time of writing he was an assistant at the Yorkshire Museum, York and later was Director of the Fair Isle Bird Observatory, 1948-57,
