Following an initial essay on the history of timekeeping are sections on famous watches and their manufacturers, such as Patek Phillipe of Geneva; also included is an account of the chronometer of John Harrison, 'Mr. Longitude.' The compilation, the second in the series, focussing on the perpetual calendar, was published by the jewellers, Juweiler Wempe, founded in Germany in 1878, and now having branches in various European cities, including one in Bond Street, London.
