8vo. 7.5 x 5.25 inches. 299 pp. Bound in original buff cloth, gilt, spine and front board decorated by black blocks. A little wear to extremities, edges spotted, fore edge darkened and old price in green visible on front board; otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated throughout by wood engravings, including frontispiece and whole page and by title page, head and tailpiece vignettes. A book of home-made amusements for family entertainment. Frank Bellew (1828-88), artist and cartoonist, was born in India and left England for the US in 1850. The first edition of this title was published in New York in 1866 and numerous later editions followed by a variety of publishers.
