Large 8vo. 6.5 x 9.25 inches. xxix + [i] + 567 pp. Bound in original green cloth, gilt, in dust wrapper. A fine copy. Illustrated by frontispiece, by 64 pages of black and white plates and by 43 text figures. Volume Five (out of twenty) of the Collected Works of Jung, originally published as Wandlungen und Symbole der Libido in 1912. This was extensively revised as Symbole der Wandlung in 1952, while this copy is a 2004 reprint translated from the further revised edition of 1956. The book 'was vastly erudite and covered innumerable fields of study: psychiatry, psychoanalysis, ethnology and comparative religion amongst others. Translated into English, 'it was given the well-known but somewhat misleading title of The Psychology of the Unconscious.'
