Volume V of the pioneering study of the psychology of sex by Havelock Ellis (1859-1939), physician, eugenicist and writer on human sexuality. This first edition is dedicated to Edward Carpenter (1844-1929) of Sheffield (from 1875 until after the end of the First World War) socialist writer, advocate of sexual freedom and gay rights and author of Civilisation: Its Cause and Cure (1889).
