8vo. 4.25 x 6.75 inches. viii + 253 + [1] pp. Bound in contemporary half green morocco, over blue cloth, gilt; spine brown leather. in compartments with raised bands, decorated gilt. Top edge gilt, fore edge deckled. Blue marbled endpapers. A little wear to extremities, front hinge starting to crack and water stain at top of half title and title; otherwise a very good copy, handsomely bound. Gift inscription to Henry Charles Frederick Pelham-Clinton from H. F. V. Tatham, Eton, Dec.22, 1908. Decorated by series device and by title page vignette. A collection of Shakespeare's lyrical writings, by Francis Turner Palgrave (1824-97), poet and critic, noted for his anthologies, especially The Golden Treasury of 1861. This copy was presented to Henry Charles Frederick Pelham-Clinton (1892-1968), who served as a Captain in the Nottinghamshire Yeomanry (Sherwood Rangers) in the First World War.
