Synopsis
A collection of simple and effective experiments illustrating chemical, physical and optical wonders.
Item Description
8vo. 7.5 x 5 inches. [iv] + 100 pp. Bound in original decorative red cloth, with black titles. Some wear to extremities, shelf mark at base of spine and browning of flyleaves; otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by engravings in text. Simple accounts of entertaining and instructive physical and chemical experiments, some of which would now be regarded as dangerous. Apparently intended as juvenile literature, it would certainly be very ill advised to procure strong hydrochloric acid to make chlorine gas at home as suggested! The Chemist and Druggist periodical was first published by Morgan Brothers in 1859.
