A well illustrated record of the county during the First World War. The first part records the war service of battalions of the Northamptonshire Regiment, the Reserves, Territorials and of the Northamptonshire Yeomanry. The second part covers the home front, including the Red Cross and hospitals, prisoners of war, Belgian refugees, women, juvenile and voluntary workers, footwear and German air raids. Work compiled by William Henry Holloway, Editor of the Northampton Independent which he founded in 1905.
