A graphic account of the adventures and hardships endured by an officer's wife during the campaigns of the Crimea and Indian Mutiny, based on her published journals of 1855 and 1859. Fanny (Frances Isabella) (1829-1903) was the wife of Captain Henry Duberly, Paymaster of the 8th Hussars. The author, Evelyn Ernest Tisdall (1907-77) was a journalist and biographer.
