Pictorial endpapers. A book of essays which celebrates the Central School and its contribution to art, craft and design in the period, 1896-1966. It includes an essays on designers for London Transport and the theatre and on the engraver, lithographer and book illustrator, Enid Marx (1902-98). at the end are biographical details of selected staff and students and a list of manuals and technical handbooks published by them. The book is edited by Sylvia Backemeyer, head of the Museum and Study Collection at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, formed in 1989 as the successor organisation to the Central School.
