The letters of a soldier of the 1st Battalion of the Queen's Royal West Kent Regiment to his new wife. Lance-Corporal Walter Stanley Robson (1911-45) served as stretcher bearer in North Africa, Italy and Greece, 1943-45. He survived the war, but died shortly afterwards. The introduction by Henry Williamson gives further details of his life and sets the letters in the context of war literature.
