Biography of Princess Pocahontas signed by author, p.92. illustrated by map by black and white photographs and by line drawings. Illustrated biographies of thirty nine women connected to Kent including by birth and by residence. They range from Saint Eanswythe and Queen Ethelburga through Elizabeth Barton, 'The Holy Maid of Kent,' Queens Anne Boleyn and Anna of Cleves, Princess Pocahontas, Aphra Behn, Lady Hester Stanhope, the actresses, Ellen Terry and Sybil Thorndike to the authors, Edith Nesbit, Vita Sackville-West, Mary Tourtel, Enid Blyton and Richmal Crompton. A few of the accounts are by other authors, but the majority are by the compiler, Bowen Pearse, Australian born copywriter and journalist, later an author resident in Kent.
