Hell’s Corner 1940.
8vo. 5 x 7.5 inches, vi + 128 pp. Bound in original green cloth, gilt, in pictorial dust wrapper, which has sunned spine and a few edge chips and tears. A little spotting of boards, but otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by 61 pages of black and white photographic plates, including frontispiece. Decorated by title page vignettes. The illustrations from the Messenger's archives and the conversational first hand accounts give a good idea of just what it was like to live and work in 'Hellfire Corner'. Henry Roy Pratt Boorman (1900-92) was the proprietor of the Kent Messenger. January 1943 reprint of the first edition of 1942.
