A close examination of a selection of attractive and evocative circles, by the archaeologist, Aubrey Burl (b.1926), author of the standard systematic work on on megalithic stone circles. The three parts of the book examine the Fables, Fictions and Facts of eight circles, Stonehenge and The Making of a Stone Circle (Swinside, Cumbria).
