REVISED EDITION. Large 4to. 9.25 x 12.5 inches. 712 pp. Bound in original green cloth, gilt. Extremities a little worn, but otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by over 300 pages (with 418 images) of black and white plates and by 82 text figures. Comprehensive and well illustrated survey of the use of glass in building and design, by the architect, Raymond McGrath (1903-77), born in Australia. Later moving to Britain, he helped to design the interiors of Broadcasting House for the BBC and of aircraft for Imperial Airways. After 1940 he was based in Dublin. The first edition of this title was published in 1937.
