Fly leaves browned. Gift inscription, Calcutta, 1939, on first free endpaper. Illustrated by portrait frontispiece. Decorated by publisher's device on verso of half title. The celebrated collection of poems by the Indian polymath, Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941), which in its English translation, was largely responsible for his winning the Nobel Prize for Literature. The sixteen page introduction is by W. B. Yeats in 1912. The Macmillan edition was first published in 1913. Scarce in the dust wrapper.
