8vo. 7 x 5 inches. [xii] + 170 pp. + [18] pp. notes. Bound in quarter cream cloth over plain blue stiff boards with printed paper title label on spine. Deckled edges, some pages uncut. A little wear to extremities, and spine and label darkened (clean spare label tipped in at end). Browning and spotting of flyleaves, but otherwise a very good copy. Oxford edition of Jane Austen's last, and unfinished, novel, Sanditon, whose theme is the development of a new seaside resort. It is printed directly from the original manuscript with notes provided by the editor, Robert William Chapman (1882-1960). Reprint in the first year of publication.
