Reprint of the 1979 English translation. A well illustrated history and survey of the work of Peter Carl Fabergé (1846-1920) and his workshops in St Petersburg and elsewhere. It includes chapters on collectors and collections, market and prices, hallmarks and signatures with sketches from the archives and pages from the London sales ledger. At the end is a black and white catalogue of the Easter Eggs. Géza von Hapsburg-Lothringen (b.1940) of the former Austrian Imperial family, joined the auction house of Christie in 1966 and is a world authority on Fabergé.
