TWO VOLUMES. 4to. 9 x 11 inches. Vol. I, xxvi + 221 pp.; Vol. II, xix + [i] + 399 pp. Bound in original maroon cloth, gilt, in pictorial dust wrappers, which have sunned spines. Minor wear to extremities, but otherwise a very good set. Illustrated by 209 text figures (including 24 folding in Vol. I) and 119 plates (including 8 in colour). Decorated by Society's seal on title pages. Detailed report of the excavation of the major Roman palace site near Chichester. Barry Cunliffe, M.A., PhD., F.S.A. (b.1939) excavated at numerous sites, including Fishbourne, Bath, Danebury and Hengistbury Head. He served as Professor of European Archaeology at the University of Oxford, 1972-2007.
