Item Description

TWELFTH EDITION. 12mo. [8] + 216 pp. With 1 folding map and wood-engraved illustrations in the text. This copy appears to lack the folding plate.

Good copy of this scarce guide. First issued in 1856 and reissued almost every other year until at least 1905 with the twentieth edition. Mr English must have printed hundreds of copies of all editions but we have records of fewer than 20 copies passing through our hands in 30 years. One of the richest sources of local information. Goulden P.61, Number 36.
