Bound in original green cloth, gilt, in pictorial dust wrapper (with publisher's advertisements on rear), which is chipped at edges and stained. A little wear to extremities, sunning of spine and board edges, browning of fly leaves, some light foxing, largely confined to edges and some margin tears, p.141-44; otherwise a very good copy, scarce in dust wrapper. Price on inside wrapper inked over. Illustrated by 110 pages of photographic plates, including colour frontispiece, 7 folding plans and 10 plans numbered in text. Decorated by publisher's device on verso of half title. One of the classic texts of the famous gardener and garden writer, Gertrude Jekyll (1843-1932). Thoroughly revised Seventh Edition with new plans. First published under this title 1919.
