12 Mo. 6.25 x 4 inches, [i] + viii + 92 + [4] pp. Bound in full contemporary calf gilt. The folding plate has been torn and repaired and has some foxing, as does the map and the text also here and there, but a very good example of a scarce and attractive early Brighton guide. Engraved Title with vies of Mr Fisher's Circulating Library, folding Aquatint View of the Marine Pavilion Brighthelmstone, and a folding engraved Map of the Vicinity of Brighthelmstone. This Guide was first issued in 1788 and reissued every few years as the watering-place developed and expanded and the information therein brought up to date.
