8vo. 6.5 x 9.25 inches. 128 pp. In pictorial card wrapper. A very good copy. Illustrated throughout by black and whiter photographs, including frontispiece. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. A photographic record of the area to the west of Folkestone before the landscape and buildings were partly obliterated to construct the Channel Tunnel terminal in the late 1980s. Chapters cover the villages of Newington and Peene, the settlements and farms of Danton Pinch and Danton Farm and the Elham Valley Line. The book reproduces photographs from the archive of Robert Kennelly, who photographed the Newington area between 1929 and 1935.
