4to. 8.75 x 10.75 inches. 240 pp. In pictorial card wrappers. Light wear to extremities, but otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by 16 pages of colour plates and by 230 black and white images, including frontispiece. Pioneering study of experimental, and often unorthodox, non-commercial printmaking. The 230 prints are discussed and illustrated and biographies and bibliographical information given for each of the sixty five artists represented. These include David Bomberg, C. R. W. Nevinson, Paul Nash, Ben Nicholson, Lucian Freud, the St Ives group and Eduardo Paolozzi.
