Notes
Eva Leonie Meyerowitz, née Lewin-Richter, (1899-1994) had researched the Akan tribes of ancient Ghana; in 1944 she became involved in assisting the king of Tekyiman state in its struggle to regain nine villages which the Gold Coast government had incorporated into Ashanti territory in 1935. This book narrates the activities of her stay among the Tekyiman people, 1946-50.
