Illustrated throughout by over 200 black and white photographs, including frontispiece. and by a map. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. A photographic compilation of Rye, a member of the Cinque Ports Confederation. It also covers the sister town of Winchelsea, neighbouring villages and farming in the locality.
