Some wear and darkening of extremities, but otherwise a very good clean interior. Illustrated throughout in outline colour. Decorated by half title and title page vignettes. Humorous Alphabet of winter sports during the flapper era. The charming illustrations by artist Isobel Dorothy Joyce Dennys (1893-1991), who lived in England and Australia, depict skiing, ice skating, curling and various apr?s-ski activities. The verses are by Edmund George Valpy Knox (1881-1971), poet and satirist, brother of Catholic theologian, Ronald Knox, and editor of Punch, 1932-49.
